How to Cultivate happiness through Journaling

One of the key things I did about 6 months after separation was to start journaling. I’m not talking about the ‘Dear Diary’ type of journaling, I’m talking about journaling that creates a positive mindset.  

Every morning or when I can during the day I write down the following:

  • 3 things I’m grateful for
  • 3 positive things about myself
  • 3 things I’ve won at in the last 24hrs

This helps you think about your life and all of the good things in it so you’re focuing on positive rather than the negative. Remember where your focus goes your energy flows.

Three Positive things about yourself

Even know I was the one to end things with my ex my confidence was still pretty shitty by the end! I found this the hardest to do at first and I would write things as simple as ‘My dimples are cute’ or ‘I can cook’ or ‘I’m a great Aunty’.  

Three Wins

This was a game changer for me, I was never acknowledging the accomplishments I made and always pushing for ‘harder, faster, stronger, smarter’. Some days these were as simple as ‘I made my bed’
